Opening a trade

1. Choose an instrument from Market Watch.
2. Set the volume (for example 0.10 lot).
3. Set your stop-loss and take-profit.
4. Click Buy or Sell.

Closing a trade

• Manually — right-click the trade and select Close
• Automatically — at your stop-loss or take-profit
• Stop out — automatic closure when the margin level reaches the stop out level

Modifying or deleting an order

In the Toolbox, right-click the trade or order and select Modify or Delete Order, or Close Position.

Viewing open trades

Open the Toolbox window and click the Trade tab. All open trades, pending orders, account balance and margin are shown there.

One-click trading

One-click trading opens positions with a single click. To enable it, right-click any chart, select One Click Trading and accept the terms. The keyboard shortcut is Alt + T.

Note that with one-click trading enabled there is no confirmation dialog — the trade is sent the moment you click.

Creating a trading history report

1. In the Toolbox, click the History tab.
2. Right-click and select Custom Period to set the timeframe.
3. Right-click again and choose Save as Report.

Chart settings

• Change timeframe — right-click the chart and select Timeframes, or use the top toolbar
• Show the Ask line — right-click the chart, then Properties → Common, and tick Show Ask Line
• Disable sound events — go to Tools → Options → Events and untick Sound Events
• Change language — View → Languages, then restart the platform

Installing an Expert Advisor

Open MetaTrader 5, then File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Experts. Copy the .ex5 file into the Experts folder and restart MetaTrader 5.
